ABOUT

LEBA

Welcome To LEBA Board-Riders.

Welcome to LEBA Board-Riders, we’d love to have you as part of our surfing family. At LEBA, we are fortunate to have the strength of 2 coastal towns (Lennox Head and Ballina) joined to form one board-riders club. This gives us an amazing variety of surf breaks to hold our club rounds each month. Our club rounds are the first Saturday of the month from February – November for U16’s Cadets through to Over 50’s Legends. We make our club rounds a fun and social day for members and their families, where you can come down to beach, enjoy a BBQ, socialise, have a couple of beers at the end of the day, and get smoked in a heat by the pure talent that are members of our club.

On the first Sunday of every month we run Little LEBA for Girls and Boys in U13s ‘Groms’ all the way down to U6’s ‘Micros’, which has an amazing family atmosphere and is a fun day for everyone.

LEBA is considered one of the strongest board-riding clubs in Australia having won some of surfing’s most prestigious competitions and awards. The annual Skullcandy Oz Grom Open is considered to be the largest junior event in the world and provides a huge economic boost to our local community as well as raising the bar for junior surfing.

LEBA enjoys giving back to the community and we pride ourselves on having a great team of people in our club, sponsors and businesses supporting us to do so. We have a great Junior Development program for kids looking to compete outside the monthly club round in other interstate events and everyone is welcome!

LEBA, along with the communities of Lennox Head and Ballina is growing rapidly in numbers. In the past 2 years we have seen an increase in members, be it new families to the region, existing members coming back to the club and a dedicated committee of volunteers aiming to grow the club and involve our local businesses and the community.

Despite from challenging years for surfing and our communities, LEBA has a total of 150 members and social members and we aim to grow that for 2024/25.

Little LEBA has record numbers signed up this year of 55. On the day, kids & parents get involved, play beach games, and learn the basics of competition surfing.
